During the coronavirus pandemic, to help ensure that our most vulnerable residents received support, we temporarily focussed our resources on meeting higher and moderate care needs.
This meant temporarily suspending services to meet lower care needs in appropriate cases, with the agreement of those affected and subject to safeguards.
This was in line with the Care Act Easements, under section 15 and Schedule 12 of the Coronavirus Act 2020, which have introduced a temporary easement of certain responsibilities that local authorities had under the Care Act (2014).
Normal services have now been reinstated. Home care clients whose care package was temporarily changed have been contacted individually. The letter sent to affected home care clients is attached to this page.
