Library service concessionary groups

If you fall into one of the following groups you may be entitled to reduced charges for some library services.


Renew your library books

Individuals and their dependants in receipt of Income Support and people in receipt of Employment and Support Allowance, or Job Seekers Allowance

There's a reduced charge for:

  • borrowing audiobooks
  • requests for books and audiobooks

People aged 60 and over

There's a reduced charge for:

  • borrowing audiobooks
  • requests for books and audiobooks

Gold Card holders

There's a reduced charge for:

  • borrowing audiobooks
  • requests for books and audiobooks

Children under 12

There's no charge for:

  • overdue books or audiobooks
  • requesting books or audiobooks
  • borrowing audiobooks
  • replacement stationery

Young people aged 12 to 17

There's no charge for:

  • borrowing audio books
  • requesting books or audiobooks

There's a reduced charge for:

  • overdue books or audiobooks

Students in full-time education

There's a reduced charge for:

  • requesting books

People who are Blind or have a vision impairment

There's no charge for:

  • borrowing or requesting audiobooks

There's a reduced charge for:

  • requests for books

Over 18s with a learning disability

No charge for:

  • overdue books or audiobooks
  • borrowing audio books
  • requesting books or audiobooks

Young people with a learning disability, special educational needs, or aged 12 up to 18th birthday and in care

No charge for:

  • overdue books or audiobooks
  • borrowing audiobooks
  • requesting books or audiobooks

Home Library Service and 'Friends and Family' users

No charge for:
