White Peak Distillery

Established in 2016, White Peak Distillery is the first full-scale, craft whisky distillery in the Peak District region. Founded by local couple, Max & Claire Vaughan, the Distillery is located in the rich riverside and industrial landscape of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site and backs onto the ancient woodland of Shining Cliff, which is a site of special scientific interest.

For visitors, as well as a 5-star distillery tour, our location offers access to some wonderful, local woodland walks and canal footpaths.

Our whisky-making draws inspiration from the regions brewing heritage by focusing on long fermentations and use of live yeasts. Our first single malt whisky will be released in late 2021. In the meantime, we have a range of award-winning Shining Cliff gins available and more recently have produced a small batch, agricole-style rum.
